Singulair Asthma campaign
I recently shot the new promotional imagery for Singulair Asthma treatment via BCG2.
We shot the balloons in situ to keep the look consistent, this wasn’t always easy with our first location on what turned into a pretty windy day….
Ad Media
Some of my work was recently featured on the cover of Ad Media for Skinny mobile.
They are currently running on Bus shelters, Bus backs and Billboards around the country.
Exhibition
Well its been a busy year so far so this is my first update in a while!
I will add some new posts over the next few days as to what I have been up to in 2013.
Starting with the most recent I think I will work backwards, it might help slow the year down…..
So this week Im part of a group exhibition at White studios in conjunction with the Auckland festival of Photography.
Loupe Awards 2012
The prestigious Loupe Awards 2012 is an international photography competition attracting professional photographers around the world.
So I am stoked to have been awarded a Bronze in the open Landscape category for the Valley image from my “Ultimate Rugby Playgrounds” series shot in the South Island of New Zealand. This image was also recently recognized in Capture magazines Self promo 2012 Annual which is mentioned in an earlier post of mine.
It is always great to get some positive feedback and affirmation of your work from industry peers who are the judges for these events.
Thanks Loupe awards!
Capture Magazine Self Promo
Just got my latest copy of Capture Magazines “The Annual” . Totally stoked to be featured in The Work “Self Promo” category.
A big thanks to the guys at Lightfarm who worked on this with me.
Ultimate Rugby playgrounds!
Here’s a cool new personal project I completed recently, using some of the landscape images I shot down south I decided to create the ultimate Rugby playgrounds. I got in touch with the guru’s at Lightfarm and set about shooting some real deal world cup rugby posts for the images. I couldn’t get the correct angle for the posts in the valley image but no problem the Lightfarm guys made me some CGI ones instead, wicked! As a conceptual set of landscape images Im really happy with these, massive thanks to the guys at Lightfarm as they did a great job and were brilliant to work with. Here’s a link to their website if you want to check them out www.lightfarmstudios.com

South Island Landscapes
I was lucky enough to take a trip down south recently to shoot some new Landscapes, what an amazing country we live in! Here is a small selection of images I shot…
Freeview TVC
I recently shot the stills for the new Freeview campaign alongside the TVC production. The talented Greg Page of Flying Fish directed the TVC’s with new indie agency True producing the campaign. We shot at flying fish’s new premises in Ponsonby which was great.. Here are a few behind the scenes shots from the day, it was a fun set to be on! Also a couple of the posters and Billboards that are currently running.

Fire Volunteer Project
Here is a sneak preview of some images from a personal project I have recently started with my local Volunteer Fire department. All of these guys have full time day jobs and give up there evenings and weekends to fight fires and help protect our communities. They are pretty amazing really and getting to know them has been a privilege. I will post images from time to time as I work though this ongoing project but might have to save some of the gem’s to show you all later sorry, everyone likes a surprise right? The images below are from there weekly training, its no walk in the park! Wait for the real deal….So please keep checking in on my progress with this, I’m pretty excited about what lies ahead and believe highlighting what these guys do will be a great thing for the Volunteer Brigade. If you like what you see feel free to drop me an email or send me a tweet @markcarterphoto!

Down side up?
Everything is not always as it first appears….

Make my Movie comp..
Here is an image I made with the very talented Director Jeff Szusterman late last year for the Make My Movie competition. We had a lot of fun creating this image with his lovely daughter Olivia. Yes she does look a little disturbed in the final image which is what we were after but I can assure you she had lots of fun having her picture taken. I big thank you to Scott Nadin also for his brilliant post work on the image.
We didn’t win unfortunately but had a lot of fun working on the project.

Now on Viisual !!

Welcome 2012!!
Welcome to 2012, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year! Love the Christmas break period, one time of the year where you can truly kick back and relax without that little guilty feeling that you should really be doing some work! Weather hasn’t been much to write home about but when its good its been great. Here’s a couple of pics I shot on a walk out on the cliffs above our iconic west coast….

Catalina
This is my first blog on my new website so where to begin?
Well it’s been a time of new things for me having recently left my position as Creative Director of Photography after three years at one of New Zealand’s leading ad agencies. It is time for change, to pursue new directions with my work and my life. It has been a massive move stepping back into the uncertain world of freelancing, but Im feeling better than ever and really looking forward to what is ahead. Not just the freedom I now have to focus on new areas of my work but also the time I can now spend with family and friends. A couple of weeks ago my dad called to see if I wanted to go up in a plane for the day, not just any plane though. A Catalina to be exact, the flying boat! Wow this plane is amazing, first built in the mid thirties and the only one left in the country and one of a handful left in the world today. What a buzz….the roar of the two huge engines was crazy and the view we had from the big bubble like rear windows was just spectacular! It was awesome to say the least…
I got to spend this time with my dad, had an amazing day, and did something I will remember for a long time to come.
So I thought I would start by sharing a few pictures from the day, enjoy….
